Jennifer White is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator who joined Appalachian State University in August 2025 as the Director of Simulation and Innovative Learning.
A passionate and experienced educator, Jennifer discovered her love for healthcare simulation while serving as the Nursing Simulation Director at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Virginia. Her commitment to the field is backed by a post-graduate certificate in Healthcare Modeling and Simulation from the Naval Postgraduate School.
This role marks the culmination of a distinguished 26-year career in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps, where she has served in various clinical and leadership roles following her graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from East Carolina University. Her passion for teaching, developed during her military service, led her to earn a Master's degree in Adult Education.
Jennifer currently lives in Banner Elk with her husband and son, while her daughter resides in Las Vegas.
