Brooke Dykes-Kidwell, DNP, MSN, RN, NCSN, is a nationally certified school nurse and a registered nurse in North Carolina with seven years of experience as a public health nurse. Previously, she worked as a nurse practitioner in urgent care, primary care, and various other outpatient settings since 1998.
Brooke holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialty in Adult Health and Occupational Medicine from Vanderbilt University, where she was on the Nurse Practitioner track. She recently completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Western Carolina University and is currently a full-time faculty member within the Department of Nursing, teaching primarily in the prelicensure undergraduate program.
Brooke's professional interests include community health education and simulation-based education to combine hands-on clinical experience with evidence-based practices, with the aim of motivating students to become compassionate, proficient practitioners.
Brooke currently resides in Blowing Rock with her husband and three teenagers.
