Gregory Marler, PhD, DNP, ACNP-BC, FCCP is an associate professor in the Department of Nursing. Dr. Marler has over 27 years of nursing experience in critical care with 20 of those years as a nurse practitioner. He holds degrees from Lenoir-Rhyne University (BSN, 1998), Duke University School of Nursing (MSN, 2005; DNP, 2019), and Duquesne University (PhD, 2025). He is board certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and practices in the cardiothoracic, neurological, medical, and hematology/oncology intensive care units at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. He currently teaches in the BSN and MSN programs.
Dr. Marler presents nationally with the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurse Association and the American College of Chest Physicians with the difficult airway taskforce.
Dr. Marler’s clinical interests include simulation-based learning with a special focus on critical care and the mitigation of healthcare provider weight bias.
Dr. Marler lives in Winston-Salem with his wife, Bridget, and their three daughters, Ruth, Kate, and Alice.
