Congratulations to Chris Smith! On November 6, 2018 Chris completed and successfully defended the first MSN thesis in the Department of Nursing. His qualitative work focused on males’ perspectives on being a nurse in today’s healthcare environment. Dr. Susan Lane chaired Chris’ committee and members included Dr. Dana Brackney and Dr. Kathleen Rayman. Chris is a graduate of Appalachian State University’s RN to BSN program and a member of the inaugural MSN cohort. He will continue his studies at East Carolina University in pursuit of his doctorate degree in nursing.
