Kristen Morgan earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University and her Master of Science in Nursing at East Carolina University. She began her nursing career in adult oncology and has since gained diverse clinical experience, including roles in medical-surgical units, float pools, and community and women’s health settings. She has been a full time faculty member within the Department of Nursing since 2019, teaching primarily in the prelicensure undergraduate program.
Kristen’s professional interests include service learning, simulation-based education, and the role of nutrition as a means to treat chronic disease processes. She is passionate about integrating real-world clinical experience with evidence-based practices to help shape the next generation of nurses. Her goal is to inspire students to become compassionate, skilled practitioners who can positively impact their communities and healthcare systems.
Kristen is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and holds national certifications as a Certified Nurse Educator as well as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Western Carolina University.
Kristen lives in Watauga County with her husband and three daughters.
