Kristen Morgan earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Appalachian State University, her Master of Science in Nursing Education from East Carolina University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Western Carolina University. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society and holds national certifications as a Certified Nurse Educator as well as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator. She began her nursing career in adult oncology and has since gained diverse clinical experience, including roles in medical-surgical units, float pools, and community and women’s health settings. She has been a full time faculty member within the Department of Nursing since 2019, teaching primarily in the prelicensure undergraduate program.
Dr. Morgan's professional interests include service learning, simulation-based education, and the role of nutrition as a means to treat chronic disease processes. She is passionate about integrating real-world clinical experience with evidence-based practices to help shape the next generation of nurses. Her goal is to inspire students to become compassionate, skilled practitioners who can positively impact their communities and healthcare systems.
