Kirsten Seals earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Tennessee–Knoxville before pursuing a second career in healthcare. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing through the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program at Duke University. Following graduation, she spent five years practicing inpatient pediatric nursing at UNC-Chapel Hill and Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU).
Dr. Seals went on to earn both her Master of Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees at OHSU, becoming a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She then returned to North Carolina, where she spent nine years practicing in Family Medicine as an FNP in Lenoir, NC.
Dr. Seals is pleased to be a member of the clinical faculty at Appalachian State University, where she is passionate about educating the next generation of nurses.
She lives in Morganton, NC with her husband and their three boys. Outside of work, she enjoys trail running, camping, sailing, and gardening.
