MSN Program

The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program at Appalachian State University is an online program with a concentration in nursing education. The program prepares registered nurses for roles as nurse educators in a variety of academic, clinical and/or staff development environments.

The program integrates core master's-level courses, nursing education courses, clinical practicums and completion of a research project or thesis related to nursing education. The program is guided by elements and frameworks delineated in the The Essentials of Master's Education in Nursing. The program requires 39 hours and can be completed in 24 months of part-time study.

Completed applications will be reviewed and applicants may be offered early admission decisions. Prospective students should apply through the Cratis D. Williams School of Graduate Studies website.
