On Friday Dec 3rd, the ASU Nursing Honor Society held its first program for nurses in the Northwest region of NC. Dr. Dana Brackney, RN, PhD , an adjunct clinical instructor in the Nursing Department provided information about the latest research and nursing care considerations when nurses are working with people with diabetes. Nurses from the Appalachian Region Health System and the nutrition staff from the Appalachian District Health Department as well as ASU nursing department faculty and students attended the workshop. The NC Nurse Association awarded credit towards nursing license renewal for attendees.
